Radegast, the brewery, whose popularity skyrocketed after 1989, has been based in the small village of Nosovice (in the district of Frydek-Mistek) since 1966.
The brewery, called Nosovice Brewery up to 1991, brewed its first batch of beer on 3 December 1970. This state-of-the-art brewery was extremely successful right from the off, but its glowing reputation failed to extend beyond the borders of North Moravia. A major turning point was the company's privatization in 1991. Improved marketing and advertising activities have catapulted Radegast up to second position among Czech breweries, transforming it from a local beer to a national brand. Over the years it has not only won many beer contests, and received the Czech Made award, but it also carries the Q mark of quality. Radegast enjoys the distinction of being the first company in the Czech food industry to obtain ISO 9002 certification.
