At the moment, there still doesn't exist a statue which could one day be erected in one of the many squares of Pardubice as a memorial to this sweet goody that made the name of this eastern Czech town famous the world over. It would of course be exaggeration to hold Pardubice for a huge
gingerbread cottage. This town of a hundred thousand has contributed more than just a
honey-baked sweet of varying shapes and sizes during its almost 700 year history. Pardubicky pernik (Pardubice gingerbread) is delicious, and makes a good present to take
home with you. You can buy it directly in company shop on the racecourse.
