The District Museum of the Bohemian Paradise belongs to the most visited Sights of the region. Since 1886 it has been collecting evidence of the natural riches of the Bohemian Paradise and of its history. The museum's nonsuch expositions show precious stones and jewels and they are completed by the Departments of Archaeology, History and Ethnography.
The part of the permanent exposition is made up of the unique panoramatic painting "Killing Saxons below Hruba Skala" (8.5 x 10 m) dating back to 1895. In July 2000, the Mineralogic-Geological exposition has been opened after a complete reconstruction. It is dedicated to the geological development of the Turnov region as well as that of all our planet.
